Betis have included an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season

Barcelona have released a statement confirming that Chadi Riad will continue his career at Rela Betis. The player, a Morocco international, moves to the Seville club on loan with an option to buy. No figures are given in the official statement.

The Moroccan did not travel to the United States with the first team order to close his new destination. Betis have acted decisively and in the last few hours and the pending details of the final formula of the operation have been resolved. In addition, Riad has already completed his first training sessions as a Betis player.

The Catalan giants are aware of the potential of the 20-year-old and have managed to include a buy-back clause of around €7 million in the event that the centre-back is acquired by Betis. The defender has already made his debut with Barça's first team and has had a great season with Barça Atlétic.

Betis thus completes a defensive line with a clear "culé" flavour. Chadi Riad joins Marc Bartra, who has been released after terminating his contract with Trabzonspor, and the two will form a very Barça tandem.
