Bartomeu says that "we are all children of Koeman's goal"

On the 10th of June there will be a game of football 7s at Camp Nou with legends

Barcelona commemorated the 25 year anniversary of Ronald Koeman’s goal winning them the European Cup in 1992 on Saturday.

The had an emotional event in the Auditori 1899. President Josep Maria Bartomeu, vice-president of the social section Jordi Cardoner, former player Jose Mari Bakero and journalist Pitu Abril were in charge of the homage to that night, May 20, 1992, a moment that changed the club’s history.

Among the attendees were also former president Josep Lluis Nunex, Carles Rexach, former players like Robert, Urbano and Angoy, technical staff from that side and members of the current board and that of 92. 

Bakero, a hero in Kaiserslautern, spoke about what it meant to wear the Blaugrana shirt. “Rondos, positional play and the personality and methodology of Johan Cruyff. But it was also to discover the greatness of the club and the contact between fans and fan club members,” he said.

Bartomeu spoke about Koeman’s strike. “With this goal we buried the pessimism forever and started a voyage which has turned us into a winning side, loved and admired globally. We are all children of the goal of Koeman.”

Carder announced that the tributes would culminate with a game of football 7s in the Camp Nou on June 10. Parts of the Dream Team will play along with other football legends.
