The Catalans want the Brazilian right back from Shakhtar Donetsk

Domilson Cordeiro dos Santos, or Dodo, is one of the names that Barcelona are looking at when it comes to signing a right-back. SPORT have learned that the Brazilian footballer from Shakhtar Donetsk has gained ground at the Catalan club and Xavi’s full back pairings for next season are not defined. There could be a lot of movement in the summer.

Dodo does not want to continue at Shakhtar and believes his sporting time at the club has ended despite having a contract until 2025. The decision goes beyond the terrible consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with Dodo also convinced he wants new challenges.

The player is liked by a lot of top clubs. Barcelona are tracking the player who could become the next Dani Alves. Bayern Munich and Madrid have also shown interest while in Italy Fiorentina and in England Tottenham are ahead of the race.

Dodo is a Brazil U23 international and he may start to appear for the full side after the Qatar World Cup. A move this summer could catapult him forward.

The defender is quick, can attack well, and is technically gifted, but only 1m 66cm tall - somewhat fitting the typical full back profile Barcelona have had.

The club are looking at Cesar Azpilicueta too, who can play there, while Sergino Dest’s future is not guaranteed. Dani Alves does seem ready to renew, while Sergi Roberto will stay another season.
