The striker was offered to the Spanish side but they didn't make a firm move

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski signed for Barcelona from Bayern Munich for €45 million this summer, moving to a Spanish club for the first time in his career.

However, Barça's No.9 could have ended up in Spain much earlier in his career, even if it is difficult to belive.

It was in 2008 when Cezary Kucharski, Lewandowski's former agent, offered him to Sporting Gijon.

But Gijon did not make Lewandowski a firm offer and the young forward, 19 at the time and playing in the Polish third division, ended up at Lech Poznan.

Everyone knows what happened from there.
