Barcelona still interested in Betis' Guido Rodriguez

| sport

It is less than two weeks since the summer transfer window closed, but Barça's sporting directors are not resting. They have to keep an eye on all the players who could be of interest to strengthen Xavi's team.

One of the positions that the coach from Terrasa believes should be reinforced is that of centre midfield, as he only has Oriol Romeu, although it is true that Frenkie de Jong and Ilkay Gündogan could play there. And one of the players that Xavi likes and that the sporting management is following very closely is Guido Rodríguez.

The Betis player, a world champion in Qatar with the Argentine national team, finishes his contract on June 30, so he would be a good reinforcement for next season. His arrival could even be brought forward to January if Barça manage to have economic fair play, as Betis, who have offered Guido Rodríguez a contract renewal, would prefer to sell the Argentine in the next transfer window if the Argentine does not renew his contract. They would like to make a profit, however small, before he leaves for free in the summer.

Guido is at the top of the wish list, in terms of midfielders.
