Ernesto Valverde has plans for the Spanish Super Cup. The team, if they beat Atletico, will play the final on Sunday. Two games in 72 hours. The coach wants to share out the minutes so the players don’t get burned out.
Arturo Vidal, Nelson Semedo and Samuel Umtiti could come in to face the Rojiblancos in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
Junior Firpo has less chance to play but may get an opportunity. Arthur, Dembele and Ter Stegen are out, while B team players like Riqui Puig, Collado and Araujo could be in the squad.
Carlos Alena has been loaned to Betis which should create more opportunities for Puig.
Valverde could use the Luis Enrique formula: Rotation through the team but the trident of Messi, Suarez and Griezmann stays.
