The Catalan side missed the only two penalties awarded to them this season

Barcelona ended the LaLiga season without scoring a single goal from the penalty spot. The Spanish champions did not need to score a single goal from the spot to win the championship.

In total, Xavi's side have been awarded two penalties and in both cases they were missed. The first was Robert Lewandowski, who failed to convert against Almeria last November. The fans called for the penalty to be taken by Gerard Piqué but the captain refused the invitation and had Lewandowski take the spot-kick. The Polish striker's shot hit the outside of the post and went wide.

In the second missed penalty, Ferran Torres was the taker. It happened against Valencia on 5 March. Ansu Fati asked for the ball that had been taken from the first moment by Ferran, who was determined to be the one to take responsibility. The forward missed his shot.

Despite the mistakes of Lewandowski and Ferran, Barça would end up winning both games. According to 'Mr. Chip', Barça are the fourth team in history to win the championship without converting a penalty, the first since 81 years ago when Valencia won LaLiga 1941-42.
