Barcelona will go all in for Erling Haaland

The Catalans did not make moves in January which would prevent them from going for the Norwegian

Barcelona have made a titanic effort in the winter window. Not just economically but in terms of the trips and the hours put in, to secure four signings: Dani Alves, Ferran Torres, Adama and Aubameyang.

One of the restrictions on the club was not to make any deals that would compromise them in the summer when they want to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

Barcelona are not alone, with PSG and Real Madrid as well as Premier League sides in the race. A few months ago it was unthinkable Barca would be, but that is the plan. As showed by their 55m euro purchase of Ferran Torres, they are starting to get some breathing room.

Dembele leaving, perhaps with Memphis going too, would offer them more muscle to sign Erling Haaland.

Xavi is sure that he would like Haaland. He has given the nod and spoken with Joan Laporta about the forward. He told the president that Haaland would fit the team’s style of play, and inject a big dose of energy and competition in the squad, and also in the stands. Ronaldinho was mentioned, as an example of a similar strategic signing.

Laporta has a good relationship with his agent Mino Raiola, whom he has been speaking to about the move. He made it clear that Haaland would not just be choosing the biggest economic offer but the most convincing sporting project.

The player will decide at the end of March and start of April which club he will be playing at next season.
