Barcelona deny Gerard Pique offered to buy a stake in Barça Studios
The club have responded to a report which appeared in the newspaper ARA this week
Barcelona say Gerard Pique did not make Joan Laporta an offer to buy a stake in Barça Studios, neither personally nor through his company Kosmos.
Diari ARA reported this week that Pique was frustrated that Laporta would not sell a percentage of the subsidiary company to the defender.
Barça sold two 24.5% stakes in Barça Studios for a total of €200m to Socios.com and the Jaume Roures-owned Orpheus Media.
"In light of the information published today in the newspaper 'Ara', titled 'Laporta negó Barça Studios a Pique,' FC Barcelona strongly deny that the Club president has ever received an offer to purchase part of Barça Studios from first team player Gerard Piqué or his company," a statement read on Wednesday.
"The Club finds the spreading of uncorroborated information that can affect the standing and honour of FC Barcelona sportspersons very lamentable."
