Barcelona 'couldn't believe' Tottenham were going to pay 30m for Emerson Royal
The right back arrived at Camp Nou and was quickly shuffled out of the door
Emerson Royal’s adventure at Barcelona did not last long. He joined from Real Betis for 14m euros but quickly was shuffled on to Tottenham for 25-30 million. It helped Barcelona make a quick 10m.
The Daily Telegraph report that Barcelona directors could not believe Tottenham’s big offer for the defender and thought it was “enormous luck” for them.
Tottenham terminated Serge Aurier’s contract to sign the Brazilian right back. He’s not settled in that well yet, although he has played 21 games for Nuno and then Conte.
However the Italian coach wants Adama Traore to reinforce on that right side, where he uses a right wing back, so Emerson’s place could be under threat.
