Xavi's side have a second placed finish in their sights after this weekend's games

Barcelona beat Real Betis 2-1 on Saturday to secure their place in next season's Champions League and their hopes of finishing in the top two -- and qualifying for the Spanish Supercopa -- were then further boosted on Sunday.

Their closest rival, Sevilla, were held to a 1-1 draw by Villarreal to leave Julen Lopetegui's side four points behind Barça with just three games to play.

It could have been even worse for Sevilla. Lo Celso's late goal looked to have earned all three points for Villarreal, but Kounde struck in stoppage time to earn a draw.

Therefore, Barça need just five points from their final three games to guarantee second place. That's because if they finish level with Sevilla, they have the better head-to-head record.

Atletico Madrid are eight points behind Barça but will be within five if they win their game in hand against Real Madrid on Sunday.

Barça finish the season with Celta Vigo at home, Getafe away and Villarreal at home, while Sevilla play Mallorca, Athletic and Atletico. Atletico play Elche, Real Sociedad and Sevilla.
