Barcelona boss Xavi on Ansu Fati-Real Madrid links: "Are you joking or what?"
Xavi made his position clear when it comes to Ansu in Friday's news conference
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández was surprised when he was asked about Carlos Ancelotti's words about Ansu Fati's future, leaving possible interest from Real Madrid in the air.
The Blaugrana boss was in disbelief. "Ansu to Madrid? Are you joking? With Ansu I was already very blunt last week. He is the club's patrimony now and in the future. I can't be clearer than that."
Xavi commented that in sporting terms there is no doubt about Ansu at Barça.
"They are generating sterile debates with Ansu and I don't understand it. He is a player who belongs to Barça and we are counting on him. He is in good shape and we are very happy with his performances. Let's hope that they stop talking about all this because it doesn't make sense," added the coach.
Despite everything, Xavi acknowledged that both Ansu and the majority of players have an uncertain future and cannot guarantee the future of many.
"We have a difficult situation with the fair-play issue," he said. "It is a complex situation that we are struggling with. You can see it in the issue of registrations. In the end, we will have to evaluate and focus on the priorities for the team and make decisions based on that."
