The Catalan club's financial situation is tight but the Dutch coach wants to strengthen the squad

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has once again spoken about the need for reinforcements ahead of Sunday's league game at Elche.

There's just a week to go in the transfer window and the Dutchman continues to insist that the Barca squad still needs strengthening.

However, he says he will accept if it's not possible due to the club's financial position and the fact there is no president at the moment.

"You know my stance," he said in Saturday's pre-game press conference. "Of course we lack players, but it all depends on the club's financial situation. I don't decide.

"I spoke with (the presidential candidates) and my opinion isn't too different to theirs. It all depends on the club. If we can't bring anyone in, then I accept that and we continue with what we have.

"We have enough quality but we want more and we have to improve in certain areas."

Koeman has previously spoken of the need for a defender (Eric Garcia) and a forward (Memphis Depay).
