Barcelona arrive in Liverpool for Champions League semifinal

The Catalans are staying at the Hilton on the docks for the Anfield game

The Barcelona delegation, led by head coach Ernesto Valverde, is now in Liverpool. They arrived in the city first thing in the afternoon and from the airport were taken to their hotel, the Hilton in the centre by the docks. They will stay there in the afternoon before heading to Anfield for training. Valverde's called up 23 players for the game, including the injured Rafinha. Five will have to be left out of the matchday squad. 

Barça will head to Anfield at around 4pm local trime, where Ernesto Valverde and Luis Suarez will speak to the press at 5pm. The players will then train at 6pm on the Anfield pitch ahead of Tuesday's huge Champions League semifinal second leg. Barça go into the game with a 3-0 lead from the first leg, thanks to Suarez's goal against his former side and Lionel Messi's second half double. 

A large crowd greeted Barça as they arrived at the Hilton. Philippe Coutinho, back home in Liverpool, where he made his name, signed autographs and posed for photographs with supporters. All the other Barça players, though, with their game faces on, headed straight in for some rest after the flight. On Tuesday they hope to seal their place in their first Champions League final since 2015, when they beat Juventus 3-1 in the final in Berlin.
