Barcelona 5-0 Real Betis: Blaugrana bite like a shark in massive LaLiga win

Barça produced a brilliant attacking performance to smash Betis on Saturday in Montjuic

Barcelona moved top of LaLiga as they thumped Real Betis 5-0 with goals from new signings Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo.

There was also a Ferran Torres goal from a free-kick -- Barça's first since Lionel Messi left the club -- and strikes from Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

Barça now have 13 points from their first five games, one more than Real Madrid, who host Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Xavi Hernandez made changes to the side which won 2-1 at Osasuna before the international break, with Felix and Cancelo coming in for their full debuts and the in-form Ferran handed a start.

The game was open early on, with Betis coming close through Luiz Henrique and Ayoze Perez, but Barça soon clicked into gear.

Felix opened the scoring with a fine finish from a tight angle and then dummied Andreas Christensen's pass to allow Lewandowski to double the lead before the break.

Ferran added the third with a fine free-kick. It was the first goal Barça have scored directly from a free-kick since Messi's against Valencia in May 2021.

Substitute Raphinha then scored the fourth, producing a brilliant finish to cap a good team move, with Cancelo putting the seal on a memorable debut with a superb solo effort.

Barça turn their attention to the Champions League now. They host Antwerp on Tuesday and will go into that game brimming with confidence after this performance.
