Barcelona 4-0 Osasuna: Ferran Torres lights the fuse in explosive display

The forward nabbed a brace while Aubameyang and Riqui Puig also got in on the act

After Xavi warned Barcelona players to buck up their ideas following their draw in the Europa League on Thursday and they did just that against a battered and bruised Osasuna.

Unlike against Galatasaray, Barcelona got an early goal and it helped unlock the game. Osasuna right back Nacho Vidal brought down Gavi in the box and Ferran Torres expertly slotted the penalty kick.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang might have made it two shortly after but could not finish acrobatically from a dinked through-ball, and Torres came close from a cleverly worked free-kick.

Torres made it two when Ousmane Dembele found him brilliantly and the French winger, in sparkling form, pulled off the same trick to set up Aubameyang for the third.

After the break Barcelona dominated still, with Xavi taking the chance to give some the squad players an outing.

Martin Braithwaite returned from injury, Riqui Puig made his first appearance in a while, Clement Lenglet too, and Oscar Mingueza.

It was Riqui who got the fourth with a fine individual goal; after his shot was saved he followed it up, rounded the goalkeeper and took his time to find the right finish.

That was the end of the fun in terms of goals, although Barcelona came close on other occasions, with a Memphis Depay scorpion kick effort going just wide and Dembele having an effort repelled.

Two big matches follow, with the second leg against Galatasaray in Istanbul followed by El Clasico. it looks like Barcelona are ready for it.
