Barça moved 12 points clear of Madrid after Sunday's late show at Camp Nou

Barcelona edged closer to the LaLiga title as they beat Real Madrid 2-1 at Camp Nou on Sunday.

Franck Kessie scored the winning goal in stoppage time minutes after Marco Asensio's strike for Madrid had been ruled out for offside.

It sparked wild scenes at Camp Nou as Barça moved 12 points clear of Madrid at the top of the table with just 12 games to play.

Madrid had earlier taken the lead through a Ronald Araujo own goal in the ninth minute after early shots from Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski.

Barca responded well to going behind. Raphinha and Andreas Christensen both had headed chances and the former brought a fine save from Thibaut Courtois.

The equaliser arrived just before the break when Sergi Roberto turned home after Raphinha's shot had been blocked.

Barca remained on top after the break, with chances coming and going before Madrid came into the game late on.

Rodrygo missed a good chance for the visitors before an acrobatic effort from Lewandowski missed the target.

Asensio thought he had won it for Madrid but VAR ruled the goal out for offside to set up a spectacular ending at Camp Nou as both sides went for it.

It was Barca who won, though, with Lewandowski's back heel freeing Alejandro Balde to set up Kessie for a huge goal.
