Barcelona 2-1 Getafe: Memphis scores winner to earn three points

The Dutchman's second goal of the season helped Barça on a tough afternoon at Camp Nou

Memphis Depay's 30th-minute strike earned Barcelona a 2-1 win against Getafe at Camp Nou on Sunday.

Memphis collected a pass from Frenkie de Jong and displayed some fancy footwork before firing past David Soria.

Barca had taken a second-minute lead through Sergi Roberto but saw their advantage cancelled out by two former players.

Sandro Ramirez played a one-two with Carles Aleña before beating Marc-Andre ter Stegen from just inside the box.

Ter Stegen was one of five players to come into the side along with Emerson Royal, Ronald Araujo, Clement Lenglet and Sergi Roberto.

Neto, Gerard Pique, Eric Garcia, Sergino Dest and Pedri were the players to drop out for various reasons.

Despite the changes, Barca started quickly and took the lead when Jordi Alba's cross was turned home by Roberto from six yards.

But Barca's lead evaporated in the 18th minute when Aleña and Sandro linked for the latter to equalise.

Barca's response was almost instant, De Jong driving forward to set up Memphis to score his second goal in three games since joining from Lyon.

Getafe were the better side in the second half but the couldn't beat Ter Stegen again, while Roberto headed Barca's best chance at David Soria.

Araujo had a goal ruled out for offside and Memphis shot over late on as Ronald Koeman handed a debut to 17-year-old Gavi in midfield.
