Barcelona 2-0 New York Red Bull: Dembele and Raphinha show their quality
The duo were on song as the Catalans wrapped up their end of tour with a win
Thierry Henry wore a half and half shirt, but this game was 100 per cent Barça. The Catalans seemed like hosts because the stands were full of Blaugrana shirts.
Red Bull pressed high and well, it was hard for Barcelona to get out, but they did. Using the wings, Raphinha and Dembele, both dangerous, they went long for Lewnadowksi and used Gavi and De Jong inside. Barcelona slowly took over.
Dembele, the new and fabulous Ousmane, and Raphinha looked to find Robert. Alba did it, and the Pole headed over. Then Dembele found him but the defence foiled the striker. It was classic - whoever is determined to score shall not. The important thing is to generate the chances. And Barcelona did.
Dembele broke the deadlock, fed by Raphinha, with both wingers showing off what they can do.
In the second half, there were changes but Lewandowksi stayed on. He tried twice more to score but could not.
Memphis came on for him and capitalised on a defensive error late on and rounded the goalkeeper to score. His celebration was subdued; his future does not lie at Camp Nou. But the future here is bright.
