Barcelona 0-3 Bayern Munich: More Champions League disappointment

Barça could not lift themselves from the disappointment of being KOd from the competition

Barcelona were beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich at Camp Nou on Wednesday after being knocked out of the Champions League earlier in the day.

Inter Milan's win over Viktoria Plzen sentenced Barça to another season in the Europa League ahead of kick off against Bayern.

Barça were not even able to salvage some pride against the German side, who coasted to victory with goals from Sadio Mane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Benjamin Pavard.

Xavi Hernandez's side could not even muster a shot on target. They still have one more Champions League game to come in Plzen next week.

Inter's win put a dampener on Barça's game against Bayern and it was the away side who started better at Camp Nou.

Mane got the better of Hector Bellerin to open the scoring before Choupo-Moting added the second. Serge Gnabry set both goals up.

Barça thought they had a penalty at the end of the first half but after a VAR review the referee decided Mathijs de Ligt had not fouled Robert Lewandowski.

Gnabry had a third Bayern goal ruled out for offside after the break before he set up Pavard in stoppage time, completing a hat-trick of assists in the process.

Barça have now lost six in a row against Bayern and have not beat them since 2015, when they won 3-0 at Camp Nou in the Champions League semifinal under Luis Enrique.
