Barça's Xavi accepts two-game ban: Maybe I have to control myself more

The Barcelona coach will not fight the touchline suspension he will serve vs. Cadiiz and Villarreal

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández accepted the two-match ban imposed by the Competition Committee after his sending-off at Getafe and admitted that he must control his impulses more during and after matches.

"I simply have to accept the sanction. I don't want to generate more controversy, I was very clear, but for me draws, victories or defeats last 24 hours and my anger has passed," he said.

The Barça coach stressed that he wants to focus "on what I can control," on match management. "I want to think about how to attack better, to generate more play."

He added: "I have to abide by the sanction and little else; as Raphinha said we have to try not to let it happen again. Maybe I have to control myself more."

Asked if he regrets his words in the post-match press conference after the Getafe game, the coach replied bluntly. "I don't regret anything, I was honest and I told the truth; everyone saw it, at no time did I hit Gavi in the hand."
