Barça's Rakitic will be back for the Copa del Rey final
The midfielder broke his finger in the shock loss to Roma
Ivan Rakitic successfully underwent surgery on a broken finger on Wednesday after picking up the injury against Roma in the Champions League.
The Barcelona midfleder must train wearing protection on the injured finger, but he is able to begin recovery work immediately.
Barça expect him to be fine to play in the Copa del Rey final on April 21 against Sevilla at the Wanda Metropolitano.
In fact, Rakitic could have forced an earlier comeback, but it's been deemed unnecessary to take risks in the upcoming games against Valencia and Celta Vigo -- which are important, but not decisive.
Here's the message the Croatian published on social media in Spanish and English:
Empezando la recuperación tras la operación en el dedo. Con ganas de estar listo cuanto antes y pelear por los objetivos que nos quedan esta temporada. ¡Gracias por vuestros mensajes!
