The midfielder wants a bigger role in Koeman's side than he's had this season

Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic says he obviously wants to play much more than he has under Ronald Koeman and doesn't understand why he's playing such a bit-part role.

Pjanic joined Barça from Juventus in the summer, who he will face at Camp Nou on Tuesday, but has played second fiddle to Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong so far.

"Honestly, I don't understand why I am in this situation, either," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "It's obvious I want to play much more. I know I can add a lot and when the coach has used me, I've done well, we played well. Beyond that, I don't know what I can do. I am training, I am ready.

"I am not satisfied and I can't be. Throughout my career, I have never accepted the idea of not playing and I won't now. We will see, I am ready, training well and waiting. I can't do anything else. It's a very delicate situation."

NEW FC BARCELONA PODCAST IN ENGLISH

Pjanic has been a regular in the Champions League and the Bosnian midfielder is likely to start on Tuesday against his former side, Juve, at Camp Nou.

Barça lead the group by three points and could even lose, dependent on the result, and still top the group.

"Juventus are in my heart, I follow them every time I get the chance," Pjanic added. "The draw was great, it's a shame not to have been able to play in front of fans in Turin, but there will be other chances. I wish Juve the best, but we want to win on Tuesday.

"My nine years in Italy were great and, honestly, I miss it. I was really happy at Roma and Juventus, I had some really good seasons there. Now I have a new challenge at the biggest club in the world and I have to fight. It's a new challenge and one I wanted to take on."
