Barça's Messi averages 0.78 goals in games against Atletico Madrid
The Argentine has netted 32 times in 41 games against the Rojiblancos
Lionel Messi will play his 800th game for Barcelona, including friendlies, on Saturday when Ronald Koeman's side travel to Atletico Madrid.
He's only played Real Madrid (44 games) more than he has Atletico (41 games) in that time. Those appearances against Atletico have been largely successful, with 32 goals arriving, an average of 0.78 goals per game.
Messi's scored in his last four games against the Rojiblanco, too, and if he scores this weekend he will equal his best scoring run against them.
Messi, 33, has scored three hat-tricks and three braces against Atletico, although he's not scored more than one in a game against them since Dec. 16, 2012. That day he scored twice as Barça won 4-1 in La Liga.
In 16 games, he's scored once against them and on 18 occasions he's failed to score. His worst run was between May 2013 and May 2014: six games without scoring (one win, five draws and one loss).
