Barça's Lionel Messi is one goal shy of brining up 400 in La Liga
The forward could bring up the milestone against Eibar this weekend
Lionel Messi could bring up his 400th league goal in Barcelona's game against Eibar on Sunday. The Argentine has scored 399 in 434 LaLiga appearances since he opened his account against Albacete back in 2005.
Messi has been the top scorer in the competition since 2014, when a hat-trick against Sevilla took him clear of Telmo Zarra, who had previously led the way with 252 goals.
Of Messi's 399 goals, 230 have been scored at Camp Nou in 217 games, of which 183 have ended in Barça wins. Meanwhile, away from home he has scored 169 times in 217 games.
The statistics reveal that he has scored an average of 0.91 goals per game in Spain's top flight.
His favourite opponents have been Atletico Madrid and Valencia. He has scored 25 goals against them both.
