Manchester City could move for Olmo if Torres ends up at Camp Nou in January

Barcelona's negotiations for RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo are about to die. The club have prioritised a move for Ferran Torres, which has seen interest in Olmo reduce in recent months. The players is ready to come, but contact between Barça and his agents has stopped.

Olmo, who has played a key role for Spain this year, is a player with a good reputation at Camp Nou and one who has been targetted for a while. The interest, however, is now unlikely to lead to anything more serious. A meeting with the player's agents this week has been postponed.

The former Barça youngster was sought by the former sporting director Eric Abidal and there was an approach. The financial situation at Barça now and the arrival of a new sporting director and, now, a new coaching team has provoked a change of direction.

Manchester City

In relation to Olmo, a new actor has appeared on the scene: Manchester City's Pep Guardiola. The winger and the Premier League side have been in contact in the past, when he was playing in Croatia. City sounded out a deal before he left Dinamo Zagreb for Leipzig.

City have not re-opened contract with the player but are considering an approach if Torres leaves for Barcelona in January.
