Barca's appeal over Gavi's registration rejected by court

| sport

The case will still rumble on for the foreseeable though, obviously

Gavi will continue to be a member of the reserve team, officially at least. The commercial court number 10 in Barcelona has rejected the appeal presented by the club last Wednesday after it was explained the club had delivered their initial lawsuit too late.

This lawsuit regarded the request for precautionary measures for the registration of the academy player as a first team player. Therefore, as of today, Gavi will continue to be a reserve team player as he had been until January 31, the date on which a first ruling in favour of the club was announced.

The board will have to focus their efforts on reducing the salary limit as much as possible so that Gavi is not 'unregistered' next season as a first-team player from June 30. Losing a player of his level is a situation that is not even contemplated.

The situation, however, is still ongoing. Now Barcelona have twenty days to appeal to the Provincial Court of Barcelona and hope for a favourable solution.
