Barça's Alex Collado thought about leaving football after difficult summer

The attacking midfielder is able to train but cannot play for Barça until January

Alex Collado is having a really bad time. Things did not go to plan in the summer and he ended up without a team.

Moves to Belgium and England didn't come off and he was not registered for either Barcelona or Barça's B team. Collado, 22, was left so deflated that he even thought about leaving football altogether.

Barça president Joan Laporta, aware of the academy graduate's feelings, phoned him personally to encourage him. Laporta told Collado he would try to fix the situation with LaLiga, although so far there has not been any resolution.

As things stand, Collado is not able to play for Ronald Koeman's side or for Sergio Barjuan's B team until January, when players can be registered again.
