Barça, willing to sell Memphis Depay for more than 20 million euros

The Catalans would let the Dutchman go if the right offer arrived and he would get more game time elsewhere

Memphis might leave Barcelona. The Catalans are willing to listen to offers of 20 million euros or more for the Dutch striker, in a decision that has generated some debate within the club.

The forward is useful for Xavi and they will try to renew his deal if he doesn’t leave, but also it’s a good opportunity for Barcelona to make money given he has a year left on his deal and two more forwards should arrive.

For now Barcelona have received some interest but no concrete offers for Memphis.

Xavi is satisfied with his performance and considers him a good option for the new project. They have explained that to his agents but also said if they can sign their targets the Dutchman will lose game time and would be mainly a substitute.

Memphis made an effort to come to Barcelona and signed on a low salary, so could get a better wage elsewhere. The forward is on holiday and will not link up with the squad until the middle of July with the rest of the internationals, so there’s some time to find a solution in the market. Memphis would rather stay but he wants an important role, so let’s see what happens if an offer arrives.
