The forward isn't even among the substitutes for Wednesday's semifinal

Lionel Messi is not even among the substitutes for Wednesday's Spanish Supercopa semifinal against Real Sociedad in Cordoba.

Messi came off at the weekend with an injury and didn't train ahead of the game. Coach Ronald Koeman, therefore has taken the decision to leave him out of the squad. The Dutchman will hope he will be fit if Barça make Sunday's final.

Martin Braithwaite comes in for Messi, with Antoine Griezmann taking on Messi's role.

At the back, Sergiño Dest drops out of the side as he's not 100 percent fit, with Oscar Mingueza moving across to right-back.

Samuel Umtiti also drops to the bench, with Clement Lenglet and Ronald Araujo coming in as the two centre-backs.

The winners of Wednesday's game will face either Real Madrid or Athletic Club, who play on Thursday, in the final this weekend.

FC BARCELONA: Ter Stegen; Dest, Mingueza, Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Pedri, Busquets, De Jong; Dembélé, Braithwaite and Griezmann.
