The Barcelona vice president apologised for the post made by board member Camps

FC Barcelona's vice-president, Rafa Yuste, came out on behalf of the club to acknowledge that the tweet that Miquel Camps posted a few days ago about Vinicius Junior was "inappropriate" and wanted to send a message to the Brazilian player himself.

Yuste was speaking after Barça's 2-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

In comments to Movistar Plus, the Barcelona VP said of his colleague's tweet: "Even if it's a slip of the tongue, it should not have been made."

"It's an inappropriate tweet," added Yuste, looking serious.

And then, he wanted to personally address Vinicius Junior through the cameras of the television station that owns the Champions League rights in Spain. "If Vinicius is listening to me, it won't happen again," he said.

In Madrid, Yuste's gesture is interpreted as an attempt by Barcelona to lower the tension three days before the clásico at the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc, this Saturday at 4.15pm.

Camps tweet

On Tuesday, Camps spoke about Vinicius Junior's attitude at Sporting Braga and wrote: "It's not racism, he deserves a slap for being a clown and a joker. What do these unneeded and senseless stepovers in midfield represent?"

It sparked a 'fire' that Yuste has now tried to put out, 'reproaching' the board member for his words and assuring Vinicius that it will not happen again.
