Barça VP Romeu: Before signing players there are things to resolve

Eduard Romeu played down expectations of big signings at Camp Nou this winter

As the January transfer window closes in a lot of is being said about Barcelona's potential activity in the winter market.

The club have previously said there will be around 25 million euros to make signings but Eduard Romeu has tried to play down expectations.

"We have some room to work in but we have to keep reducing the wage bill," said the vice president in an interview with RAC1.

"At the moment, we still have a lot of things to resolve before signing (new players)."

On the team's situation, with three big games around the corner, Romeu appeared optimistic: "We have a long-term project. We have faith in confidence and I am sure we will win the next three games."

With respect to backtracking and signing LaLiga's CVC deal, Romeu added: "If we have to speak with anyone, it's with CVC, who are giving the money, not with LaLiga.

"It would be much better for everyone if the interlocution was more extensive."
