Ernesto Valverde trained with a full squad with the exception of Lionel Messi, who's not travelled

FC Barcelona trained in Ann Arbor for the first time on Thursday for the first time after flying from Miami to Detroit in the morning.

Ernesto Valverde oversaw the session in an ideal setting at the University of Michigan, one of the most prestigious colleges in the United States.

All of the first team players on the U.S tour -- Lionel Messi's the only on missing -- were able to take part. Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Iñaki Peña worked with goalkeeping coach Jose Ramon de la Fuente, while Neto warmed up with the outfield players.

Before the session began, the whole squad were photographed with the football teams from the University of Michigan, the women's team and the men's team.

On Friday, Barça will train at Michigan Stadium ahead of their second game against Napoli on Saturday. They won the first meeting 2-1 in Miami on Wednesday.
