Valverde picked a strong side for the game in Basqe Country

Iniesta, Messi and Suarez all started, with Coutinho left on the bench

Barcelona named their strongest side for Saturday's game against Eibar at Ipurua. Ernesto Valverde ignored the temptation to rest players ahead of the trip to Chelsea on Tuesday and named the same team which could start at Stamford Bridge.

Valverde complained in his pre-game press conference that he would have liked to have, like Chelsea, who played on Friday, an extra day to prepare for the European tie. That has not been the case, but despite that Valverde has still decided not to rest anyone for the game in London.

There's perhaps only one place up for grabs in Valverde's side anyway. That's the fourth midfield/third forward role, which was taken by Paulinho at Eibar, with Philippe Coutinho left on the bench.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is the undisputed No.1 and the first choice backline is Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba. Further forward, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez all start when they are fit.

The role taken by Paulinho has been shared around this season, with the Brazilian competing for the spot along with Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Paco Alcacer, Andre Gomes, Aleix Vidal and others. Coutinho was expected to start at Eibar, as he's cup tied for the Chelsea game, but had to make do with a place on the bench.

Eibar side: Dimitrovic, Peña, Ramis, Arbilla, Jose Angel, Dani Garcia, Pape Diop, Orellana, Jordan, Inui, Kike

Barça side: Ter Stegen, Sergi Roberto, Piqué, Umtiti, Alba, Busquets, Iniesta, Rakitic, Paulinho, Messi, Suárez
