Barça's Lewandowski ruled out of Granada game... and could miss clásico

Robert Lewandowski will miss Barcelona's trip to Granada on Sunday through injury. The Polish striker's departure through in the first half of Wednesday's match in Porto was one of the 'blemishes' on a very important 1-0 victory for Xavi Hernandez's side.

Lewandowski, who was substituted in the 34th minute due to a blow to his left ankle in an action that the referee did not signal as a foul, was iced as soon as he arrived on the bench.

After undergoing tests, the details of the knock have been revealed. According to journalist Xavi Campos, he will miss the match against Granada because the bruising has not gone down.

Barça have since confirmed he's suffered a sprained ankle and sources have told SPORT he could be out for up to a month, which would place his involvement in the clásico against Real Madrid on Oct. 28 in doubt.

"Tests conducted this Thursday morning have revealed that Robert Lewandowski has sprained his left ankle and will be out of action until the injury heals," the club announced.

Xavi had hoped that, as it was only bruising, the ex-Bayern Munich frontman would be available for Sunday's trip south in LaLiga as Barça look to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Lewandowski was replaced in Porto by Ferran Torres, who scored the only goal of the game as Barça made it two wins from two in the Champions League this season with a big European victory away from home.
