Messi has joined up with the Argentina national side in the UK

Barcelona star and Argentina captain Lionel Messi joined up with his international teammates in Manchester on Tuesday.

Messi, 30, flew to England on a private plane from Barcelona to get to work under Jorge Sampaoli, with the cameras from La Sexta capturing his departure.

The Barça forward, who has just become a father for the third time and is in good form, missed Argentina's first two sessions at Manchester City's training ground on Monday.

On Tuesday, though, along with Lautaro Martínez, Cristian Pavón and Pablo Pérez, he joined in preparations for Friday's game against Italy and next week's friendly with Spain.

Argentina are likely to play a 4-3-1-2 formation, with Sampaoli expected to try Higuain and Aguero in attack together once again.

Among the news in Manchester is the presence of Pablo Aimar on the coaching staff, something which will perhaps be repeated at this summer's World Cup in Russia.
