Saudi club have spoken to the player's entourage but no direct contact with the Catalan club so far

Franck Kessié's future at Barça is up in the air more than ever. Both the player and the Blaugrana club are open to an offer from Saudi Arabia and hope that in the next few hours, Al Nasr will step forward to begin negotiations.

Barça already made it clear in their meeting with the player's agent that they would open the door to him as long as there was an offer of 30 million euros, but there are no offers yet.

Al Nasr have indeed been in contact with the player's entourage to show their interest, but they have not gone any further. The Arab club have other options on the table and must make a final decision and it is hoped that formal talks can begin tomorrow.

The player is expecting a salary proposal of around 25 million euros.

Barça are aware that negotiations with Arab football are complicated and very volatile. Hence, until an official offer arrives they do not want to make a statement. They will continue with preparations counting Kessié in the squad.

It is also true that the player's entourage made it clear that his priority is to remain at Barça, although they would be willing to listen to offers from outside Europe, such as that of Al Nasr.

Barça also indicated to his entourage that the transfer should be entirely for the Blaugrana club and that they would not share any amount with the player even though he arrived with as a free transfer last summer.

Kessié's exit would be important because of the club's salary limit. It would help with registering their current signings and would open the door to further incomings. In principle, they will not go after another midfielder to replace Kessié given the signing of Gundogan and the more than likely signing of Oriol Romeu.
