Barça receive €40m deadline day offer for Lewandowski from Saudi Arabia

The Polish striker, 35, is the subject of a bid from a Saudi side on Friday

FC Barcelona are working on departures on the final day of the transfer window and among the known departures of Ansu and Lenglet and the possible exits of Abde and Eric García, a new name has appeared on the table. The Blaugrana have received a proposal from a Saudi Arabian club to sign Robert Lewandowski.

The offer is worth around €40 million and has arrived on this last day of the market for Spanish football but not for Saudi Arabia, which remains open for new signings until 20 September. So the player's exit operation could be done until the Saudi market closes, although Barça could not incorporate anyone in his place, as inscriptions in Spain close this Friday 1 September at midnight.

Barça, in the current window, have seen many attacking players leave the team: Dembélé, who signed for PSG; Ansu Fati about to make his departure to Brighton official and on the exit ramp is Abde, who could also end up leaving.

If the Polish player were to leave as well, the club would be left with Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres, while waiting for Joao Félix and Vitor Roque in the winter market.

The offer has not been accepted by the Catalan club and the player is not considering a move away.

Lewandowski, 35, was signed last summer for €45m euros from Bayern Munich. This season has started with one goal in the first three LaLiga games and last season he scored 23 goals in 34 games in the regularity competition, for a total of 33 goals in 46 games in all competitions.
