Barça president Joan Laporta makes trip to Qatar capital Doha

It's not clear what line of business the Barcelona chief is pursuing in the country

Joan Laporta's agenda gives no respite and, after attending to the club's senators on Wednesday in Barcelona, on Thursday he has been in Doha, Qatar, where he has continued to respond to his responsibilities as head of the club.

The president has not travelled alone to the Qatari capital. Xavi Puig, the director in charge of the women's football, also travelled with him, which could indicate that the reason for the institutional presence in the country is due to the club's desire to organise a friendly match in which Jonatan Giráldez's players will be the main protagonists.

In fact, as SPORT published a few days ago, Barça intend to organise a match against, possibly, Chelsea in Saudi Arabia. The aim would be, on the one hand, to obtain an economic return on the success achieved by the Blaugrana, especially after winning the second Champions League in the club's history, and, on the other hand, to achieve a very important social impact in terms of women's sport in the Middle East.
