Barça prepare for Copa without Cillessen; seven players given time off
Carevic, Iñaki Peña, Chumi, Cuenca, Miranda & Riqui Puig trained from Barça B
After thumping Real Madrid, Barcelona returned to training on Monday with their mind on Wednesday's Copa del Rey game away at Cultural Leonesa.
Ernesto Valverde has begun preparations for that game by calling up several Barça B players: Iñaki Peña, Carevic, Miranda, Chumi, Cuenca and Riqui Puig. Of those six, several are expected to be in the first team squad this week.
However, Jasper Cillessen, Barça's Copa goalkeeper, missed the session with a big. In principle, it should not prevent him playing in Leon.
Meanwhile, Valverde's given seven players time off this week. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Gerard Pique, Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez and Jord Alba will all sit out the cup game.
Barça travel to Leon on Wednesday, with the second leg of the round-of-32 tie taking place at Camp Nou in December.
