Barça believe Pérez decided not to attend Clásico before Vinícius tweet

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will not attend the clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona in Montjuic this weekend.

Supposedly, he made the decision after the tweet from the Blaugrana director Miquel Camps dismissing Vinícius, although Barça believe that the message on social media is just an excuse to legitimise his absence.

There is a suspicion that Pérez had already decided not to travel beforehand due to the pressure he was receiving from the Madrid environment because of the Negreira case.

The news about Pérez's absence was leaked on Wednesday night after Barça's victory in the Champions League. The president's camp explained that, in the end, he would not be heading with the club's delegation as a protest against the public criticism of Vinícius and the lack of response from the Catalan club.

Barça, at this hour, still have no official confirmation of his absence and continue to work on the pre-match lunch that will take place between directives, whether Florentino is there or not.

Barça understand that Pérez's situation was not at all easy this week due to the pressure he was receiving from his board and the powers that be in Madrid to avoid the photograph with Joan Laporta.

The words of the Blaugrana president denouncing an orchestrated campaign from the capital to damage Barça and with the Negreira case as the maximum exponent have hurt and the presence of the Madrid president meant any support would be difficult to digest.
