Barça offer Dembele to Man Utd and Newcastle for €20 million

The French forward is in the final six months of his deal at Camp Nou

Ousmane Dembele's days at Barcelona seem numbered. The Frenchman is lightyears away from renewing his contract with the club, who don't want to sit around with their arms folded given his reluctance to stay. For that reason, they are trying to force a January transfer.

Barça's objective is simple: make money on Dembele before he leaves for nothing when his contract expires on June 30. The renewal proposal has been on the table for months but his agent Moussa Sissoko has asked for an amount the club cannot afford -- or any other club, for that matter.

Therefore, Barça have started to move, and have offered the forward to two Premier League clubs for €20 million: Manchester United and Newcastle United. Both have shown an interest previously and the player's seduced by the idea of moving to the English league. The Red Devils need to strengthen their attack as they battle for the top four, while the Magpies want to make a statement signing after being taken over by Saudi Arabia's investment fund.

Barça don't know if Dembele has already signed a pre-agreement with any other club. Dembele knows he can sign an agreement with any club which will come into force in the summer. Barça are aware of that but won't throw in the towel of trying to get some sort of return on the ex-Borussia Dortmund man in the current window, something that would take a weight off their spending cap.
