Barça name their asking price for young left back Akieme
Akieme, who's contract runs out in 2021, is attracting interest from the MLS as well as Sassuolo
FC Barcelona are looking to finalise plans for Barça B in the short term and one of those is making a decision on the future of Sergio Akieme.
Right now, Barça want to sell the youngster for €3m. Serie A side Sassuolo, as well as a team from the MLS, are interested in adding to the left-back to their ranks.
Akieme is under contract until 2021 but turns 23 in December, forcing the club to give him a spot in the first-team squad. At the moment, that isn't something the club is considering.
Despite the question marks over his future, Akieme is actually having a very good season under Garcia Pimienta. This is why the club feels now is the time to cash in on someone they feel won't be good enough for the first team.
Barça B are involved in the Play-Offs to see if they'll earn promotion to Segunda A or remain in Segunda B. Yet it appears those matches could be the last Akieme plays for the club.
