The Chilean has won his place in Valverde's plan after a tough start

"I now feel more like Arturo Vidal." The Chilean, finally, feels important at Barcelona and has won a place in Ernesto Valverde's plans.

"I am much happier," he said ahead of Wednesday's Champions League game against PSV. "I've played a lot of minutes with the national team and with Barça, too. I am in a good moment, the best of the season, my confidence is 100 percent."

He's left behind the anger of not playing earlier in the season, when he voiced his frustration on social media.

"That issue is closed now, it's all in the past, the coach also spoke about it and there's no need to go over it again," the midfielder added.

Vidal is ticking off an objective and doesn't want to stop now: "Since I arrived and signed I said I wanted to be important [at Barça]. There are spectacular players here, but little by little I am earning my place. I have been improving."

The Barça fans quickly took to him: "I have been lucky enough to be quickly taken to heart by many Barça supporters, I feel it when I am on the pitch, when I win the ball back, on the street...

"I feel the affection of the people here. I know there are a lot of important things still to come, though, and I hope I can win the hearts of the fans."
