The Catalan side have turned their attention to the Bordeaux player following Willian rejections

Barcelona are in talks over the signing of Malcom, according to the Italian press. The Bordeaux player has reportedly put the brakes on an agreement with Roma to open negotiations with the La Liga champions immediately.

The Brazilian has been linked with Barça before. On several occasions, the 21-year-old winger was watched by the club's scouts last season. However, it's not until now that the club have contacted his representatives.

A move for Malcom could be a result of the difficulties Barça have encountered in their attempt to sign Willian. Chelsea have turned down a number of bids for the Brazil international this week.

Roma had announced earlier on Monday that they had agreed to sign Malcom from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux for 32 million euros plus four million euros in potential add-ons.

The Serie A club said the deal was subject to "personal terms being agreed and a medical" and that Malcom was expected in Italy "soon."

However, he has not yet arrived in Italy and various reports have now suggested that's due to Barça's emergence on the scene at the 11th hour.

Last season, Malcom was one of the stars of the French league. In 35 appearances, he scored 12 goals and set up seven more, numbers which have made him sought-after this summer.
