Barca keeping close tabs on Giovani Lo Celso option

| sport

Giovani Lo Celso is one of the most coveted names on the summer transfer market. After his good season at Villarreal and after winning the World Cup with Argentina, the midfielder is a name desired by the big European clubs. And, as has been reported in recent days, Xavi likes him as a complement to form a dream midfield engine room.

Lo Celso, who has a contract with Tottenham until 2025, will spend at least the first part of the pre-season with Spurs. The new coach of the Londoners, Ange Postecoglou, wants to see him, as well as other players who have gone out on loan last season.

From there, anything can happen. One of the clubs that has already made a move to try to get him on loan is Betis. As for Barça, the Catalan club has not yet made any moves despite the fact that Xavi likes him and is convinced he would be a good option to help form one of the most powerful midfields in the world.

De Jong, Pedri, Gundogan and Gavi are all available for the interior roles, while Oriol Romeu, as SPORT reported on Wednesday, is in the pipeline to play as the pivot.

The fact is that everything is possible with the Argentine, who knows the Spanish league well and could arrive on loan, a possibility that would suit Barça like a glove. At the moment, however, the issue is on ice, at the expense of what Tottenham decide, what the player decides and what offers come in.
