Barca interested in new Girona starlet Savio

Girona have been very successful in the market this summer. Continuing with Míchel's project that achieved such good results last season, the club reinforced with specific pieces. And one of them, Savio, is becoming the revelation of La Liga. 

So much so that he has already attracted the attention of FC Barcelona, as Albert Fernández explained on Gol's Twitch channel. What's more, he points out that the Azulgrana club already tried to sign him recently, but a deal could not be completed. Now, after seeing from up close what he is capable of at 19 years of age, the club will not take their eye off him. 

The early stages of the season have shown that Savinho has plenty of talent in his boots. With unique athletic qualities that make him one of the best dribblers in the league, and an excellent and fine command of the ball, against Granada he also showed that he has a nose for goal, making his LaLiga debut. In addition, he also provided two assists.  

With Savinho and Tsygankov, Míchel has two 'planes' on the wings capable of dizzy any defence, which allows them, among many other things, to remain undefeated winning four of the five matches so far in the championship.

If FC Barcelona decide to invest in him, they will not have to agree a deal with Girona, as they have done this summer with the transfer of Oriol Romeu and the loan signings of Eric Garcia and Pablo Torre. 

The player arrived at Montilivi on loan from French club ESTAC Troyes, which is also part of the City Group. They were the ones who signed him in 2022 from Atlético Mineiro in Brazil, the team where he took his first steps as a professional, and the ones who loaned him to PSV last season. There he did not play a major role. 

Signed for a fee of around 6.5 million euros, the City Group beat off many other competitors. He currently has a market value of 5m, although his performances will soon increase this figure. Girona will have to fight with several competitors if they want to keep him, but for the time being, they will be able to enjoy his spectacular and particular style of play. 

Savinho is another case of young talent coming to the fore at the age of 16. Playing in his native country, Jorge Sampaoli gave him the opportunity to play as a starter at the aforementioned age. He also said: "He is a very young player who has a great future, he has been training with his teammates and we know his ability... we have a lot of confidence in him for the future". He was not wrong.
