Barca give Sergino Dest one more chance
Sergino Dest was one of the players called up for the first day of Barcelona training at the start of the 2023-24 campaign. The player has returned from his loan spell and the Blaugrana are willing to give him another chance. For now, no offers have arrived and the full-back will have chances during pre-season to prove that he can earn a place in the squad. He arrives with maximum motivation and convinced that he can turn the situation around and earn his stay.
Barça have prioritised the signing of a right-back this summer and Iván Fresneda, from Valladolid, is the candidate. However, the club still has problems with the salary cap and has not yet made an offer or drawn up a contract. In this situation, Xavi Hernandez is going to try out the American in the first friendly matches of the pre-season and then action will be taken depending on the sporting decision that he reaches.
Both the Blaugrana coaches and the sporting area believe that if he is one hundred percent and focused, he can be a player who can contribute to the first team. Nobody has doubted his level, but they have doubts about tactical issues or consistency.
