Barça and Espanyol coaches meet for derby photo 686 days later
The traditional snap has not been taken for quite some time
It seems like a like but it’s been nearly two years since the coaches of Barcelona and Espanyol have met to take their traditional derby photo. 686 days to be exact. Xavi Hernandez and Vicente Moreno had the photo on Friday ahead of the game on Saturday.
The last was taken on Jan 3, 2019, ahead of the 2-2 draw at the RCDE Stadium with Ernesto Valverde and Abelardo.
The Barca coach was sacked a week later, while the Espanyol coach followed quickly enough.
In the second game Espanyol declined the photograph because of ‘diary problems’. It would have been of Quique Setien and Rufete, two unmemorable coaches of these clubs.
Espanyol we’re relegated and Barcelona have only just now been able to play them again.
Xavi waved to fans at Camp Nou who were taking a tour at the moment the photograph was taken.
