Barça don't understand why Madrid have been treated differently by the CAS

The Catalan club don't know why they didn't receive the same treatment as Real

Barcelona feel that the Court of Arbitration for Sport have treated them differently to Real Madrid in relation to the two clubs' transfer bans.

The Blaugrana don't see the logic in Madrid being granted the precautionary measures appealed for following the sanction issued by FIFA, which means the minors affected by the above sanction may now play for their respective clubs.

"We also asked for that. The difference is that our young kids were not allowed to play, whereas Madrid's are," Barça vice president Jordi Mestre told SPORT in an interview which will be published on Tuesday.

Mestre considers it "unfair" and says it's an "enormous insult" pointing out that Barcelona were forced to take the youngsters our of La Masia, thus "contravening FIFA's own standards, which are to protect children."

A Barcelona delegation, including president Josep Maria Bartomeu, were in Zurich last week to try to resume a relationship with FIFA after it had broken down following the transfer ban.

Mestre added: "Last week we went to speak with [FIFA president Gianni] Infantino and I can say that him and [previous president Sepp] Blatter are like night and day. FIFA are keen to rebuild and think more about football than politics. He's radically different to Blatter."

Finally, Mestre wanted to make one thing clear: "For the record, we still feel the penalty given to Real and Atletico is unfair and disproportionate, as was ours. What annoys me is the treatment from a certain section of the press, how we were treated and how those affected now are being treated."
